As May 1st approaching, steel mills are going to hold tenders at the end of the month, and policies on export and resource tax attract wild attention from the market. China Minmetal Chamber of Import and Export Trade holds conference at Xi'an with about ten major producers discussing relative policies.
On Policies:
One producer points out that even though the export tax is going to be revocated by May, but decision on resource tax is unclear. A cadre of a major state-owned enterprise says that according to the ministry of finance, the agenda of reformation on resource tax is still discussing with ministries such as of land resource and taxation bureau.
An official says that reforming resource tax is a complex matter, tax on molybdenum is only a small part.
Different opinions:
An exporter from Liaoning agrees with the positive news, who says the company is ready to export with many customers abroad.
Another exporter from Sichuan disagree. He worries that with low price abroad will make export more difficult. Without a big gap between domestic and foreign price, over-reliance on revocation policy to solve problem is only drink poison to quench one's thirst.
Our opinion:
Besides export tax revocation, the added-value taxation is another focal point, which could impose a disadvantage on domestic products.
Of course, the fundamental issue on export lays on difference of price. If the difference is not obvious, export will be in vain. |
