Imported 560,000 Tons, Having Decreased By 34% Compared To That In October
According to the customs-statistics released in China, the quantities of chrome ore imported by China from main sources in November of 2009 were as per the table attached hereto.
Namely, China imported 560,000 tons of chrome ore in November of 2009, which had a substantial decrease of 34% compared with that ( 857,000 tons ) in the previous month of October. China imported 945,000 tons of chrome ore in September of 2009, having recorded the largest quantity per month in its history, but the imports in October and November continued to decrease.
Therefore, the total quantity of chrome ore imported by China in January - November of 2009 came to 6,158,000 tons, which had a decrease of 7% from that ( 6,623,000 tons ) in the same period of 2008.
South Africa and Turkey are the two main sources for China to import chrome ore but the imports of chrome ore from these two countries into China in November had a decline compared to those in October. Turkey, Oman, Iran, and so on are going to enter into winter time and, therefore, the imports of chrome ore from these countries into China are anticipated to decrease hereafter. |
