Today domestic ferrosilicon market tend to wait and see, with few transactions. Producers in some areas has already stopped offering. It’s learned that at present, quotation price of 75# in northwestern market is 6500-6700yuan/ton, 72# 6300-6500yuan/ton, while in Mongolia of northern China, 75#6600-6700yuan/ton. Some enterprises today are likely to raise quotation price, but it’s not obvious today.

  The message that there would be new measures about electric energy power price in northwest came out last week, which made most domestic ferrosilicon producers in confusion. Downstream enterprises demand is not strong, and export market begins going weak, but the cost keeps moving up. China strengthened its control degree to high energy consuming enterprise, but it’s unknown when and how the local government will take implementation, so most producers are very cautious when they get order, except large enterprises. It’s a considerable rise of cost for ferrosilicon enterprises if electric energy power price move up by 4-5cent RMB/1000watt-hour. It’s not clear whether the rise of electric energy power will be carried out or not, so domestic ferrosilicon quotation price is in confusion, and some enterprises are waiting and seeing without offering.
